"I'm a werewolf."

Jesus, what's with the lack of activity around here? Its like after I said we'd be shutting our doors soon my fellow writers just gave up prematurely. Ah well, I can still utilise the blog as a platform to take the piss out of people on the Internet.

Many of you will be well aware of the 'Comments' feature on the YouTube homepage. Whenever someone replies to a comment you've left on a video, you get a notification in this panel. As someone who has been on the site since 2006 and watched over 16,000 videos, you can understand that I get replies to comments quite frequently - sometimes on feedback I've left years ago. Most of the time its people simply going 'lol' or 'i agree'. Occasionally the odd negative reaction comes my way, but its usually nothing I can't handle and ignore.

However, sometimes my insta-rage or curiosity will get the better of me and I'm tempted into finding out more about the people who do choose to talk me down. This is where the fun begins.

Take this video specifically. A while back, under my alias of 'Melaisis', I commented that the girl in it is rather hot. Nothing bad about that, right? Well, not in the world of b0w5er, who calls me an idiot for not commenting the video appropriately. I was going to leave this guy alone and move on with my life, but I couldn't help but notice that while his username roughly translated to 'Bowser' (of Super Mario Brothers fame), he had a Sonic avatar. Now, the year is 2009, not 1990. No one likes Sonic any more except for the kids who watch the new pseudo-anime series on ITV.

Turns out b0w5er is a kid who watches the Sonic cartoon on ITV. That's all I can really say. I could make comments about how he supports something (some place?) called 'chipmonk nation' or that he's 'a werewolf', according to the channel description. Go read it for yourself.

Moreover, I'm pretty concerned that, while only joining YouTube in 2008, he's watched almost 30,000 videos. That's double what I've watched over a 3-year period and I used to be fairly heavily involved in the community in mid-2007. The mind boggles. What does he do all day? Doesn't he have school? What if he's really 19 and he's just been unemployed for a very, very long time?*

There's some sort of sadistic pleasure to be had out of watching his videos, or simply reading the channel's comments. I worry that this bloke has the audacity to call me and hundreds others 'idiots' when he spends his time making Windows Movie Maker clips explaining to an audience of 5 people why he 'hasn't made any videos lately'. Now I understand why Vloggerheads had an 18+ age limit. I'm not saying my glorified YouTube poop is any better, but at least it gets over 40 views.

*Oh, no. Wait. He has left school.

This post was brought to you by the need to rant. Seriously, my reborn positivist attitude is hard to keep up. Can someone else post? We've got like, 12 to go before the big 1k.
